Notes and feedback from other groups:
-Give your target audience a face! maybe pictures. who are they? what do they do? read? listen to?
-Show qualitative research
-Don't tell them stuff they already know!! (e.g. the xfactor stuff)
-Use hardly any text of slide show, more pictures than writing
We need to make a key decision: Do we want to market One Direction as a JLS-type r'n'b band? or more of a McFly guitar-based band??
Some ideas:
-Do some cool album artwork, something unexpected and abstract maybe??
-Merch- maybe stuff more interesting than just t-shirts?
-Research into the boy's backstory- is there anything more than just X factor we could use to their advantage?
-Can any of them play musical instruments?
-Maybe they could collaborate with Abercrombie? do a live gig at Abercombie in London? if not Jack Wills/Hollister/Superdry?
-Get them to do a radio 1 live lounge- like the Saturdays "beggin'" one (one of them played the guitar, it was unexpected and showed them as singers more then just a manufactured band)
-A competition? get 1D to perform at your school?
-Bliss/Sugar mag partnership?
