To market One Direction, we'll obviously have to play off the fact that young girls love them. I'd say that their target audience would be a girl aged between 8-15
Funnily enough i found myself sitting next to a group of "Tween" girls on the train the other day and managed to make a few observations. They were all about 12 years old and were on a school trip. They were all trying hard to act older than their years, each with either an i-phone or a blackberry (which i found very surprising!). They were talking about what shops they like and said that they liked H&M stuff because they have stylish stuff in their sizes, they also talked about shopping at Claire's Accessories and one of them was wearing and Abercrombie & Fitch hoodie.
I was thinking that maybe we could do a One Direction iphone/blackberry app maybe telling secret info about the band, intimate gigs or ticket pre-sales?
I was also thinking maybe we could get the boys to model for H&M?...the kids bit though obviously, it would draw girls into the store, and i think that the bands popularity with girls might make young boys shop there too, saying "if you look like this you could get girls too" maybe? as well as bringing the band back into the public eye, as they have been out of it a bit since the series finished
